Ten teams, one thin French pancake. On June 13, 2026, the Washington State Chefs Association hosted its first-ever Great Crepe Escape at Renton Technical College — a day of savory galettes, dessert pinwheels, and serious culinary creativity.
Bite of the Duck 2026 — A Record-Breaking Evening of Culinary Excellence
Bite of the Duck 2026 — Hosted by the ACF Washington State Chefs Association at Bates Technical College in Tacoma, Bite of the Duck is an annual culinary competition celebrating creativity, community, and one star ingredient: duck. Teams of professional chefs and culinary students compete head-to-head, each preparing 150 appetizer portions during a two-hour grazing event open to the public. Attendees enjoy free admission, complimentary bites, raffle prizes, and the chance to taste exceptional dishes from Washington's culinary talent. Awards are presented for Best Student Dish and Best Professional Dish. Proudly supported by Maple Leaf Farms, Affinity Group, Bates Technical College, and Harbor Foodservice.
